This week is Tax Professional Awareness Week (TPAW), a week-long event featuring webinars and in person seminars in order to help tax professionals like you increase their knowledge in the tax industry. The official start of TPAW was January 8th, however many of the events don’t take place until the 9th or 10th so If you are worried about missing out, don’t be! IRS Webinars:
With tax prepares all over the country it can be hard to get people to come to one central location for tax education. So the IRS is hosting a couple webinars as part of Tax Professionals Awareness Week.
January 10th: The IRS is hosting an hour-long seminar to answer tax preparer’s frequently asked questions on due diligence. Starting at 2pm EST the webinar will go in depth about due diligence requirements on tax benefits your clients may qualify for such as the Earned Income Tax Credit or the Child Tax Credit. January 12th: Starting at 2pm EST get the latest information on rule changes to certain tax credits for the 2023 tax year. This webinar will have scenarios to work through that highlight the advantages to claiming these credits and explains the recertification process after an audit. University of Michigan- Advanced Tax Seminar: Taking place from January 9th to the 12th this four day event will cover the latest changes to the tax law and credits.
