EducationTax NewsModernized e-File (MeF) Scheduled Power Outage

The IRS plans to conduct its annual Labor Day Power Outage beginning Saturday, August 30, 2014 at 3:00 p.m. and ending on Monday, September 1, 2014 at 7:00 p.m. The MeF Systems (Production and ATS) will not be available during this time. All times shown in this communication are in Eastern Time Zone.

MeF Production and ATS Downtime

Shutdown will begin on Saturday, August 30, 2014 at 3:00 p.m. and end at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, September 1, 2014.

Important Note: States that schedule retrieval of their state submissions may have to change their schedule in order to retrieve submissions in time to validate returns and submit acknowledgements by 2:30 p.m. on August 30. Anything not retrieved through MeF by 3:00 p.m. cannot be accessed again until MeF re-opens for Production on September 1st.
